BUFT English Club Holds "The Writing Odyssey" Creative Writing Competition
The BUFT English Club organized "The Writing Odyssey," a creative writing competition, at the Multipurpose Hall of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) on 30 June 2026 to promote literary excellence and creative expression among students. Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), BUFT, attended the program as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate), was present as the Guest of Honor. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Dean, Faculty of Sciences; Mr. Mohammad Imtiaj, Director, Department of Public Relations; and Ms. Shahriar Parvin, Chairperson, Department of English, attended the event as Special Guests.
In the competition, a student from the Department of Apparel Merchandising and Management (AMM) emerged as the Champion, while students from the Department of Textile Engineering and the Department of English secured the First Runner-up and Second Runner-up positions, respectively. Seven other outstanding participants were also awarded Certificates of Excellence. The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, celebrating students' creativity and reaffirming BUFT's commitment to fostering writing, critical thinking, and literary excellence.
