About Mr. Rafiqul Alam
Gp Capt (Retd) A N M Rafiqul Alam, ndc, psc is currently holding the position of the Secretary, Board of Trustees and Director of Students Welfare (DSW) at the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT). Gp Capt (Retd) A N M Rafiqul Alam obtained his Masters of Defence Studies (MDS) degree from the National University of Bangladesh in 2005.
He started his career in Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) in1975 as a Pilot Officer in the GD(N) branch and after serving for about 30 years he retired from BAF as a Group Captain in 2005. During his service career in BAF he served as a Flying Instructor in the BAF Air Force Academy for long time. He also served in various operational and administrative capacities in the BAF Bases and Air Headquarters including Senior Instructor (Air) in the Defence Services Command & Staff College.
After his retirement from BAF he joined Darul Ihsan Univerrsity (DIU) in 2005 and served as Deputy Registrar and Controller of Examinations up to 2007. He also served as Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the same university. Subsequently, he joined as the Registrar of BGMEA Institute of Fashion & Technology (BIFT) in 2010 and continued serving as Registrar of BUFT up to March 2018. He was actively involved in various administrative activities during the transformation process of BIFT becoming a full-fledged university BUFT.
During his service career both in BAF and BUFT he visited many countries of the world in connection with training as well as official visits.

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) has been making immense contribution towards producing highly skilled manpower for the Textile and RMG sector of Bangladesh.
Since its inception, the honourable members of the Board of Trustees of BUFT, faculty members, officers & staff and the students have been making relentless effort and made invaluable contributions for the development of the university. The position and status attained by BUFT today with its state of the art permanent campus at Nishatnagar, Turag, Uttara, Dhaka is obviously due to enormous and collective contributions made by all ranks and files who have been associated with this prestigious institution.
