Professor
Subject: Textile Engineering, Apparel, Fashion, IE/IPE & CSE
  • (SSC + HSC) / (O levels + A levels) (min. 4 in a scale of 5) 3'A's in O Levels & 2 'A' s in A levels
  • 4 years Bachelor with Honors degree + Master/ equivalent degree in relevent discipline (minimum CGPA. 3.50 in a scale of 4)
  • 15 years of active teaching experience in reputed university (5 years as Asso. Prof.)
  • 15 publications in peer reviewed journal of Q1/ Q2/ Q3 rated (at least 6 as first author/ corresponding author and at least 7 as Asso. Prof.)
  • Ph.D. degree is essential
Associate Professor
Subject: Textile Engineering, Apparel, Fashion, IE/IPE & CSE

Assistant Professor
Subject: English & CSE
  • SSC + HSC/ O levels + A levels (min. 4 in a scale of 5) 3'A's in O Levels & 2 'A' s in A levels
  • 4 years Bachelor with Honors degree + Master/ equivalent degree in relevent discipline (minimum CGPA. 3.50 in a scale of 4)
  • M.Phill or equivalent degree from a reputed university
  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree from a reputed university
  • 5 years of active teaching experience in reputed university for Master/ equivalent degree
  • 3 years of active teaching experience in reputed university for M.Phill or equivalent degree from a reputed university
  • 2 years of active teaching experience in reputed university for Ph.D. or equivalent degree from a reputed university
  • 3 publications in peer reviewed journal of Q1/ Q2/ Q3 rated (at least 1 as first author/corresponding author) for Masters
  • 2 publications in peer reviewed journal of Q1/ Q2/ Q3 rated (at least 1 as first author/corresponding author) for M.Phill
  • 2 publications in peer reviewed journal of Q1/ Q2/ Q3 rated (at least 1 as first author) for Ph.D.
Lecturer
Subject: English, Physics, Chemistry, Graphics Design for Fashion, Fashion Illustartion, History, Aesthetic of Art and Design, Fashion forcasting and Trend Analysis, EEE, IE/IPE, Fabric, Drapping (BFS / FDT), Garment Pattern Making (BFS / FDT), History, Fashion Retailing (BFS / FDT), Yarn & Apparel
  • (SSC + HSC) / (O levels + A levels) (min. 4 in a scale of 5) 3'A's in O Levels & 2 'A' s in A levels
  • 4 (Four) years Bachelor with Honors degree + Master/ equivalent degree in relevent discipline (minimum CGPA. 3.50 in a scale of 4)
  • Candidate having M.phill and Ph.D. or equivalent degree will get preferrence.
  • Active teaching/ Industry research experience preferrable, but not essential
  • Publications Preferrable, but not essential
  • Masters Degree is essential for all discipline
Lab Instructor
Subject: CSE & Environmental Science
  • Masters degree or equivalent degree in relevent discipline (with no Third division or class) in the relevant area.
  • Experience in the relevant area and good commend in English and Computer.

* Academic Qualification may be relaxed in case of highly suitable candidates.

Notes

1. In case of departments of English, Law & Justice and Fine Arts including (Fashion studies & Fashion Design & Technology) academic results may be relaxed if candidates with the above requirements are not available. But must have first class/ division or equivelant in Undergraduate or in Postgraduate level.
2. Acceptance letters for articles/ papers will be accepted but not more than one, with a condition that it must specify the number, volume and year in which it is going to be published. Candidate must submit reprints of the published papers or the photocopy of original as it appeared in the journal. Computer composed personal copies of the paper(s) will not be considered. The candidate must be required to show at the time of interview a copy of the original journal in which the paper was published.
3. A candidate's deficiency in one area cannot be compensated by surpluses in another area for the purpose of promotion.
4. If a candidate's application for promotion is denied, s/he cannot re-apply within six months.
5. 3rd division/ class or C grade at any level of educational qualification will not be accepted.
6. Graduates (Bachelors and Masters) from all public universties (DU, BUET, RUET, DUET, KUET, MVSTU, JU, RU, CtgU, IUT, JstU, KU, Jagannath University, BUTex, BUP, MIST) and reputed private universities will get preferrence.
7. Practical/ Industrial experience may get preferrence in case of Lecturer post.
8. There will be written, demonstration and viva test for the posts of Teaching Assistant (GTA) and Lecturer
9. Selection Committee/ BUFT authority will decide on which of the steps of selection process (written, demonstration, viva etc.) will be followed for the posts of Associate Professor and Professor.
10. The authority reserve the right to change the recruitment policy from time to time.
11. Probation period for the job is 1(one) year at all level, but it may be extended on case to case basis.
12.Those who are already in service at BUFT, their promotion will be considered if they have 3 (three) 1st classes /divisions from SSC to Masters or in equivalent. On the other hand, their promotion will be considered according to the University’s recruitment and promotion policy maintained that time.
13. Active service means study leave for the purpose of higher studies (Masters/ M. Phil/ P.hD/ Post Doc.)
14. Authority can appoint local & International recognized experienced professors as Distinguished/ Emeritus Professor.
15. Authority can appoint renowned subject expert as Distinguished Expert.
16. Authority may relax the qualifications if suitable candidates are available.

Candidates would be required to submit the printed hard copy of their CV along with a Cover Letter, two recent photos, copies of mark sheets, certificates, experience certificates (if any), NOC (if applicable), NID and a pay order of BDT-500/- in favor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology.
