Business is considered as the pillar of economic development where business education supplies the fuel of successful business. Alongside other industry, Bangladesh is widely renowned for its garments industry and this sector contribute more than eight percent of export earnings of the country by exporting different readymade garments and creates employment for more than four million people directly and indirectly another six million. To maintain continuous growth and overcome the challenges, the industry needs educated, trained and skills people.
Who have depth knowledge in operations, business and administration? To fill up this gap, the Department of Business Administration of BUFT offers different programs at graduate and undergraduate levels and creates future leaders not only for RMG sectors but also for other industries as well.
A team of talented intellectual of world recognized universities from home and abroad are working for the Department to create a world class teaching - learning experience for the students. The department provides state-of-the-art tuition and is carried out in accordance with the guidelines instructed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh. The continuous updating course curriculum as per the contemporary business needs, our graduates are well accepted by the employer of all industries. We train and educate our students to lead and manage future business by developing their human skills, analytical skills, and decision making skills. We believe that spreading knowledge is enriching knowledge.
The atmosphere of cooperation established among the students, academic staff and the administration is based on and motivated by a reliable feedback. The research and practical business-oriented projects run by the department are implemented with the participation of the students. The Department promotes the students’ participation in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, contests, conferences and forums and encourages all beneficial initiatives undertaken by its graduates. The students also have the opportunity to become members of the Student Clubs.
The Department of Business Administration at BUFT is committed to make sure a sound environment for teaching, training, and research in the field of economics and business. The Department has highly qualified academic staff with proven teaching knowledge - experience and research achievements who have implemented a number of educational, scientific and business-oriented national and international projects. The academic staff of the department also has publications in the reputed journals in home and abroad. To add knowledge in this field, the department also published journal and motivate faculties and students to participate different projects initiate by the joint collaboration of the university and the industry.

Program of Study
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at BUFT is offered to provide state-of-the-art education for graduates to meet the requirements of the industry. The BBA program is designed with a combination of theory, practical knowledge application, and personality development to face the challenge at the 21st century. The program gives a practical experience for the students in the form of projects, industrial visits, and interaction with the experts from the industry. Students also learn many different skills that will make them a wholesome professional and set them up for success. Since BBA is a professional degree, students here get agree at opportunity to start working in the professional world and build network with people working in different organizations. These people can open many doors for our graduates regarding better jobs, and more networking opportunities with the global professionals.
In BBA program, vast arrays of subjects are covered that make students a knowledgeable professional and give them many options for pursuing a career. There are five major areas disciplines within the structure of the BBA program - Apparel Merchandising, Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Human Resource Management. Subjects from such fields including corporate management controlling, logistics, marketing, human resources and leadership theory set the key accents in this program. The curriculum further includes studies in advanced management theories. Students in this program complete an identical basic study stage, and then get the opportunity to choose their major study area in the final year.
The BBA program consists of eight academic semesters and a total of 132 credits. Each semester is subdivided into modules from the fields of: core courses (finance, accounting, marketing, and human resource management) and others (statistics, humanities and social sciences). In addition, students are offered a total of six non-credits English courses. The program is completed with an 8-week internship which the students do in various business organizations, followed by the production of a thesis/ report. For the students of BBA program, the Department has established long-term co-operations with financial institutions, companies, commercial organizations for the implementation of internships, work placements, seminars and joint projects. The practical training and professional development of the students are also furthered by the Centre for Career Development at BUFT.

MBA in Apparel Merchandising (Code: 4111)
MBA in Apparel Merchandising is a comprehensive blended learning program that offers the full spectrum of apparel merchandising business and business management education delivered with the flexibility, accessibility and quality that students expect from such a leading blended learning university.
The study area in apparel manufacturing & merchandising delivers fundamental knowledge and insights extending from material design theory via textile manufacturing, textile processing, finishing technologies through to quality management and quality assessment of textile materials. Subjects from the field of business management studies, such as corporate management controlling, logistics, marketing, human resources and leadership theory set the key accents in this program. The curriculum further includes studies in advanced business management theories.

MBA Regular (Proposed)
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program prepares students by making them capable of serving in the fields of economics and business administration. Four major areas function within the structure of the program - Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Human Resource Management. Students who opt for the program complete an identical basic study stage, and then get the opportunity to choose their major study area.
MBA is a comprehensive blended learning business program that offers the full spectrum of business and management education delivered with the flexibility, accessibility and quality that students expect from such a leading blended learning university. The program develops students’ knowledge, skills and abilities regardless of impediments of time or place and in accordance with international quality standards. The MBA program consists of four academic semesters and a total of 66 credits. It’s a closed-credit program. The degree program is completed with the production of a Master’s Thesis (Dissertation).

As an alternative to MBA program, BUFT offers Executive MBA Program with an accelerated learning experience that transforms the world's most promising managers into the next generation of powerful leaders.
Unlike Regular MBA Program, EMBA is tailored to your unique leadership goals and business challenges. Two important components contribute to your personal and professional transformation.
First, a personal case enables you to address a specific challenge in your organization and develop and refine an in-depth strategy and implementation of plans. Second, through one-on-one professional executive education coaching sessions and facilitated team meetings, you will develop a unique leadership style and a personal action plan for ongoing development.

The key objective of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program is to provide training geared towards acquiring practical skills to meet the requirements of employers. The department of business studies has established long-term co-operations with financial institutions, companies, sectorial organizations for the implementation of internships, work placements, seminars and joint projects. The practical training and professional development of the students are also furthered by the Centre for Career Development at BUFT.
