The championship-winning team, comprising Abu Saleh Mahim, Asia Alom, and Md. Workshop on BAC Preparation to Strengthen Institutional Quality Assurance at BUFT

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organized a workshop titled "BAC Preparation: Roles and Responsibilities of Officers" on 2 July 2026 at the university campus to enhance institutional readiness for accreditation and strengthen quality assurance practices. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), BUFT, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate), Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Acting) and Treasurer, and Mr. Md. Rafiquzzaman, Registrar, attended the program as Special Guests. The session commenced with welcome remarks by the Director of IQAC.

The technical sessions were conducted by Prof. Dr. Muhibul Haque Bhuyan, Department of EEE, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), who provided comprehensive guidance on the roles and responsibilities of university officers in preparing for the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) accreditation process. The workshop covered key aspects of accreditation requirements, documentation, quality standards, and institutional compliance, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session. Faculty members, administrative officials and concerned officers from different departments participated in the workshop. The program concluded with closing remarks by the Director of IQAC and the distribution of certificates among the participants.

The BUFT Merchandising Club officially inaugurated BUFT Apparel Arena 2026 with a grand opening ceremony on 1 July 2026, marking the commencement of one of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology's premier inter-departmental competitions. The event was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Designated Vice Chancellor of BUFT, alongside distinguished guests from academia and the apparel industry, including Prof. Dr. Engr. Mohammed Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Dean, Faculty of Apparel Studies; Mr. Sabbir Ahamed Abir, Head, Department of Apparel Merchandising and Management (AMM); Ms. Farhana Jannat, Assistant Professor, Department of AMM; Mr. Md. Shahin Mia, Manager-Merchandising, Fabrica Knit Composite Limited; Ms. Tasina Sharmin, Senior Officer, HR & Compliance, Active Composite Mills Limited, Rising Group; and Mr. Omar Faruk Wazy, Merchandiser, Beacon Knitwear Limited.

The guests shared valuable industry insights and motivational messages, encouraging participants to develop their professional skills, creativity, and leadership qualities.
