BUFT-Archroma agreement
Mr. Syed Mohammad Ismail, the Country Head of Archroma Bangladesh (Ltd.), visited BUFT on June 21, 2023, and met with BUFT Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan. They had a fruitful discussion session in a cordial environment.
The meeting provided an opportunity for discussion on various areas of collaboration. The parties explored avenues such as internships, training programs, scholarships, and sponsorship of research projects. The objectives are to equip BUFT students with practical exposure and expertise, enabling them to drive innovation and transformation within the RMG and textile industries. The collaboration aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of BUFT graduates and foster sustainable growth in the RMG and textile sectors.
BUFT and the University of Borås sign an MoU
It is honor for BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology, to be a part of the history of having a MOU signed with the University of Bors, Sweden.
Now we have more floor and space to grow and expand our horizons!

BGMEA President emphasizes circular economy and sustainability on the 13 th anniversary of BGWTF
BGWTF (Bangladesh Garments Washing Technologist Foundation) the
organization for the garments washing technologists celebrated their 13 th anniversary on Friday,
02 nd June at the Dhaka Boat Club. Mr. Faruque Hassan, President, BGMEA was present in the
occasion as the distinguished chief guest. The members of the BGWTF highlighted the
importance of washing sector in Bangladesh.
BGMEA President Mr. Faruque Hassan has laid emphasis on circular economy, sustainability
and environment in the garment sector of Bangladesh. BGMEA President briefed on the massive
and outstanding transformation of BGMEA. He said at present Bangladesh has 197 LEED green
garment factories, 8 out of the world's top 10 green garment factories are in Bangladesh. 54 out
of the world's top 100 green industrial projects are in Bangladesh. 500 more factories are in the
process of getting LEED certification. The hon’ble president of BGMEA said that he will
cooperate to arrange job fair and skill-based training for the washing technologists in the future.
The hon’ble president also uncovered the BGWTF magazine and distributed the best
development awards among the winners.
Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, ProVice Chancellor, BGMEA University of Fashion &
Technology (BUFT) was also present as the special guest. Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan said
the BGWTF should give importance on research and innovation for the development of the
washing sector. BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) and BGWTF may
arrange joint seminars and workshops at BUFT campus.
The session was chaired by Md Abdus Samad, President, BGWTF. Sayed Farid Ahmed,
Managing Director, Unique Group, Chief Advisor, BGWTF, Engr. Shafiqur Rahman, Managing
Director Hams Group and Advisor, BGWTF, Md Helal Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director, Jcl
Group and Advisor, BGWTF, were also present in the anniversary.
