Discussion on innovation in the safety life of women in hill tracts
BUFT organized a seminar on 19 September 2022 at the seminar hall 101 to discuss how
innovative ideas are helping women particularly in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Mr. Siddiquer
Rahman Fahim, Project Officer (CHT UNDP), Mr. Washington Chakma, Project Officer (CHT,
UNDP), Mr. Abdulla Al Hamid, Managing Director, Biotech Energy Ltd. and Mr. Taufiqur
Rahman, Innovation Expert (Device) a2i-innovation lab, ICT Division were guest speakers at the
seminar. Pro Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, faculty members, officials and students were present at
the program.
BUFT is the champion of Bangabandhu Gold Cup Inter University Football Tournament-2022
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organized the 2nd Bangabandhu Gold Cup Inter University Football Tournament-2022 at the BUFT playground in Nishatnagar (west side of Uttara) Turag, Dhaka. The final match was held on 31 July 2022 at 3:00 pm at the BUFT playground where Mr. Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, MP, Minister of Industries, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, was present as the Chief Guest. Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique chaired the event. He gave a flower bouquet and crest to the Chief Guest. Members of the Board of Trustees of BUFT, Mr. Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP, Mr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman, MP, Mr Reaz-Bin-Mahmood, Mr. Khandokar Rafiqul Islam and Mr. Mohammed Nasir were present as special guests. BUFT Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman, Professor Dr. Eng. Ayub Nabi Khan, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, all Deans, Director of Student Welfare, Director of Administration, Head of Logistics, Project Director, all Heads of the academic and administrative departments, faculty members, officials, staffs, media personnel and students of BUFT were present during the event. Fareast International University and BUFT made it to the finals where BUFT won 4-3 on penalties following a 2-2 draw. Eighteen public and private universities participated in this tournament which started on 16 June 2022. Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique, the chair of the event, alongside the special guests, handed over the prizes among the champion and the runner up teams.

A new avenue of career development opportunity held
The Department of Business Administration at BUFT has recently organized a seminar on ‘Agent Banking: A new avenue of career development opportunity to discuss the possible career opportunities available in this field. The program was held on 26 July 2022 at the Seminar Hall inside BUFT premises. Distinguished Prof. M Muinuddin Khan was the Chair of this program. Mr. A.S.M. Rezaul Karim, Executive Vice President and Head of Agent Banking, Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. was the keynote speaker at the event. Faculty members, officers, staff and students were also present at the program. The session was ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Business Administration, BUFT.
