Trail Break 15K Run 2024: BUFT Student Shines as Champion

The Trail Break 15K Run 2024, held on 18 October at Hatirjheel, Dhaka, saw Tanim Al Zishan, a Textile Engineering student from BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), claim first place. Themed “Beyond Your Limits,” the event brought together runners from across Bangladesh and abroad, challenging them to complete a 15-kilometer course within a 2.3-hour cut-off time. Zishan’s exceptional performance secured his victory in a highly competitive race.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Mr. Imran Fahad, Chairman of Inspiring Bangladesh, and Mr. Muhammad Masum, Chairman of Ultra Champ Runner (UCR), along with other sponsors and dignitaries.

BUFT Organizes Human Chain to Prevent Environmental Disaster

BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) organized a human chain on September 30, 2024. The human chain was organized to prevent the eviction of populated settlements, including the construction site of a university playground, academic buildings, local mosques, madrasas, and cemeteries, all threatened by the proposed construction of sewage treatment plants. The protest was led by Prof. Dr. Eng. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor, and saw enthusiastic participation from faculty, students, staff, and local residents. Speakers called on authorities to prioritize environmental protection and reconsider the project, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a harmonious balance between development and nature to ensure a healthy living and educational environment.
