Niederrhein University students visit BUFT
On October 4, 2023, BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) and Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), solidifying their commitment to research, student exchange programs, and collaborative initiatives. Eight students from Niederrhein University have chosen to embark on a transformative journey by pursuing internships at BUFT-designated placement sites. These young scholars will immerse themselves in the vibrant fabric of Dhaka, gaining practical insights and building lasting connections. TEAM Group, overseen by Mr. Abdullah Hil Rakib, a member of the BUFT Board of Trustees, provides a stimulating atmosphere for learning and development. The students from HN will spend a month interning at TEAM Group, contributing their fresh perspectives while absorbing the rich tapestry of Bangladesh’s textile industry. Before commencing their internships, they visited the BUFT campus on February 14, 2024 where they met with BUFT’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman, and Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan. The delegation later explored BUFT’s state-of-the-art facilities and exchanged ideas with their Bangladeshi counterparts.

BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) hosted a seminar on December 6, 2023, focusing on 'Education and Research Opportunities at the University of Borås.' The program was graced by the presence of Dr. Jenny Balkow, Strategic Advisor for International Affairs at the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering, and Business at the University of Borås (HB). Prof. Dr. Engineer Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor of BUFT, delivered the welcome address. Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman, Vice Chancellor, BUFT, presided over the session. In his speech, he encouraged students to seek out and avail themselves of such lucrative opportunities for education at world-class institutions. Dr. Balkow delivered a compelling keynote speech and provided a comprehensive overview of education and research prospects at HB that captivated the audience. The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from BUFT students, faculty members, and administrative staff, showcasing the keen interest and commitment to exploring global academic avenues. Prof. Dr. Abdul Jalil, Treasurer, BUFT, delivered a vote of thanks at the end of the seminar.

On 7 June 2023, a pivotal moment unfolded as the BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) and the University of Borås (HB) inked a momentous academic agreement, fostering an alliance that promised multifaceted collaborations. This landmark pact laid the foundation for a diverse spectrum of partnerships encompassing exchange programs, collaborative research endeavors, and the sharing of invaluable resources.
Dr. Jenny Balkow, a distinguished figure renowned for her expertise and serving as the Strategic Advisor for International Affairs at the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering, and Business at the University of Borås, graced BUFT with her presence on December 4, 2023. Her visit marked a significant step forward in solidifying the burgeoning relationship between the two esteemed institutions. During her visit, Dr. Balkow met with the Vice Chancellor of BUFT, Prof. Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, and subsequently participated in a coordination meeting presided over by BUFT's Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan. The meeting witnessed the active participation of BUFT officials and faculty members, signifying a collective dedication to advancing the collaboration to new heights. Dr. Balkow engaged in pivotal discussions and meetings aimed at amplifying the collaborative efforts between BUFT and HB.

Following the fruitful meeting, Dr. Balkow was given an extended tour of the BUFT campus. Dr. Balkow is scheduled to deliver the keynote speech on education and research opportunities at the University of Borås on 6 December 2023.
