A Grand opening program of BUFT Merchandising Club and Freshers' Reception of Batch-222 was held on 26th October, 2022 at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology. This entire program is organized by the Department of Apparel Merchandising & Management (AMM) along with BUFT Merchandising Club (BMC).

The department of AMM sincerely thanks and congratulates the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, VC (acting) and the special guests, Ayman Sadiq, CEO, 10-Minutes School, Abdullah Al Maher, Group CEO & head of Business, Asrotex Group, Sadruzzaman Rashel, Managing Director, Circular Fashion Industries Ltd., and Md. Tauhid Bin Abdus Salam, Managing Director, Classical Handmade Products BD.

The day-long program was held in BUFT auditorium and multipurpose room combinedly. The chief guest and special guests shared their valuable speeches in different areas of textile and RMG sectors. Also, they mentioned how university students can develop their professional skills to become ready for the upcoming 4IR and career challenges. The program came to the end with a pleasant cultural program held in the Multipurpose room.

Thousands of students from all the departments of BUFT enthusiastically presented and overenjoyed the whole program.

An internship placement interview session was organized by the Department of Apparel Merchandising & Management (AMM), BUFT on 27th September 2022 at 12 pm on BUFT premises. Mr. Binesh Balakrishnan, General Manager, Merchandising & Production, Beximco Apparels Ltd, Mr. Atikur Rahman, Deputy General Manager, Merchandising & Production, Beximco Apparels Ltd and Mr. Mir Asif Azam Chowdhury formed the panel of interviewers at the event. Later the interviewers were met by Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Treasurer, BUFT, Ms. Farhana Jannat, Assistant Professor & Head, Dept. of AMM, Ms. Nasrine Jamine, Assistant Professor, Mr. Yeasin Ali, Assistant Professor, Dept. of AMM, and Advisor, BUFT Merchandising Club. Mr. Tanvir Talukdar and Mr. Shahadat Hossain Sabbir, President and General Secretary respectively of BUFT Merchandising Club were among the students nominated for the interview session. The panel of interviewers were presented gift bags as a token of appreciation. The event was ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Farhana Jannat.

BUFT organized a seminar on 19 September 2022 at the seminar hall 101 to discuss how innovative ideas are helping women particularly in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Mr. Siddiquer Rahman Fahim, Project Officer (CHT UNDP), Mr. Washington Chakma, Project Officer (CHT, UNDP), Mr. Abdulla Al Hamid, Managing Director, Biotech Energy Ltd. and Mr. Taufiqur Rahman, Innovation Expert (Device) a2i-innovation lab, ICT Division were guest speakers at the seminar. Pro Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, faculty members, officials and students were present at the program.
