The 3rd graduation ceremony of the BGMEA Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT) was held on April 20, 2019 at the BUFT Campus, Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka organised by BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT).

Prof. Dr. Harun-Or-Rashid, Vice Chancellor of National Universty, Bangladesh, conferred the certificates to the graduating students. 650 students of AMT, FDT and KMT 111, 112 and 121 batches successfully completed of the Bachelor’s Degree programs of the Institute.

Mr. Muzaffar U Siddique, Founder Chairman, Board of Trustees of BUFT and President, Board of Governors of BIFT chaired the ceremony and delivered the welcome speech to congratulate the graduates for their remarkable achievement. He hoped that the fresh graduates are endowed with sufficient knowledge and skill to be able to face any challenges that our society and the world brings to them.

Engr. Kutubuddin Ahmed, Chairman and Founder of Envoy Group & Sheltech Group graced the ceremony as the Graduation speaker and Prof. Dr. Shafique Ahmed Siddique attended the function as the special guest. Other Trustee members of BUFT who attended the function were Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, President, FBCCI & managing director of Onus Group; Mr. Reaz-Bin-Mahmood, former Vice President (Finance) of BGMEA; Mr. Khandokar Rafiqul Islam; Mr. Md. Moshiul Azam (Shajal), Former President, Board of Governors, BIFT Mr. Shirajul Islam and Vice Chancellor (Acting) of BUFT, Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan. Opening speech was given by BUFT Vice Chancellor (acting) and Principal in charge of BIFT Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi khan and vote of thanks was given by M Jamal Uddin, Director, BIFT.

Sanaullah, CFO Md. Nazmul Hossain, Head of Logistics Wg. Cdr. (Retd.) Shahidullah, PD Md. Majibur Rahman, Head PRO Md. Atikur Rahman, Heads of the departments, officials, graduating students and their families, other distinguished guest, former principal of BIFT and members of the print and electronic media also attended the function.

The BUFT Business Club under the Department of Business Administration, BUFT, organized a seminar on “Supply Chain Management" on 04th April 2019 at BUFT Permanent Campus, Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka-1230 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in order to highlights the significance of SCM in academic and practical level based on local and global. The seminar also focuses on the upcoming SCM case competition-2019 organized by ISCEA. The target audience of the seminar was students of BBA and MBA Program. The key note speaker of the seminar was Mr. Naimul Islam Chowdhury, Chief Operating Officer & Corporate Coach, Mind Mappers Bangladesh. Dr. Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Head, Department of Business Administration and Chief Adviser, BUFT Business Club, inaugurated the seminar by expressing the significance of SCM. The Keynote speaker illustrated the basic SCM models through real life applications in the manufacturing and service industry. Mr. Naimul also demonstrated the evolutionary timeline of SCM through various milestones. The guest speaker of the seminar was Mr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Supply Chain Manager, PRIMARK. The guest speaker discussed the importance of SCM and its application in the ready -made garments industry of Bangladesh and how complex and challenging it has become now-a-days.The seminar was indeed an interactive knowledge sharing forum that was followed by a question-answer session from the participating students. The seminar was also graced by Mr. ATM Adnan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Business Administration, Mrs. Nafisa Newaz, Assistant Professor, DBA, Mrs. Farhana Karim, Lecturer, DBA, and Mrs. Nuzhat Islam, Lecturer, DBA, Mrs. Nashid Bintey Haydar, Lecturer, DBA. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks and presenting a Crest of Appreciation to the key note speaker by Dr. Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Head, DBA.

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) observed Pahela Baishakh-1426, the first day of Bangla New Year through various colourful programmes. The day-long event was inaugurated by a colourful Mangal Shobhajatra and preceded with folk music, traditional dance performances, fair, panta hilsha, etc.

Around five hundred students of the university took part in the event and expressed their enthusiasm with drums, flute and ektara. The renowned Bangladeshi band Arbovirus performed on stage after midday on the day.

BUFT Board of Trustees Founder Chairman Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique and Founder Members of Board of Trustees, BUFT Mr. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, Mr. Siddiqur Rahman and Mr. Faruque Hassain were present on the occasion, while the university's Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan presided over the programme.

Treasurer, Registrar, DSW, Deans of different faculties, Heads of the departments, and other senior officials also attended the ceremony. Because of this, the BUFT Family always celebrates Pahela Baishakh with new hopes and aspirations for a better, peaceful year.
