CCT organizes seminar on Wings of Fire
The Center for Coordination, Consulting, and Testing (CCT) of BUFT led by Assistant Manager, Ms. Kamrun Nahar Panna, organized a seminar, ‘Wings of Fire’ in the Multipurpose Hall. The keynote speaker at the event was Ms. Shwapna Bhowmick, Country Head, Marks & Spencer, Bangladesh. Ms. Bhowmick is a distinguished alumnus of BUFT; she was the top graduate in the innaugural Post Graduate Diploma in Apparel Merchandising program offered by BUFT.
Ms. Bhowmick gave a highly motivating and awe-inspiring speech to the audience, mostly consisting of the students of BUFT. In a brief introduction about herself, she described how she overcame hardships, obstacles and challenges in her life to get to the position she is at today and how determination played a vital role in the process. Ms. Bhowmick encouraged the students to use their time wisely, and effectively to best prepare themselves in order to achieve their future goals. She added that Marks & Spencer will continue to support BUFT students and graduates with seminars, workshops, internship and employment opportunities. Later Ms. Bhowmick met with Mr Muzaffar U. Siddique, Founder Chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT, who thanked her for taking time out of her busy schedule to visit BUFT.
AMT organizes floor cutting exhibition
Students from the Department of Apparel Manufacturing & Technology (AMT-172) under the leadership of Mr. A T M Mohibullah, Assistant Professor, Department of AMT, organized an exhibition titled “Cutting Floor Layout” in front of the multipurpose hall on 25th June 2019.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor (Acting) Professor Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan. Also present were Dean of Faculty Of Business Studies, Professor Dr. Muinuddin Khan, Dean of Faculty of Sciences Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil. There were a total of 25 projects that took part in the exhibition. The Vice Chancellor(Acting) Professor Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan along with the Deans and other faculty members and officials visited all the involved projects in the exhibition and had a fruitful exchange of knowledge with students participating in the exhibition.
BUFT congratulates newly appointed UGC Chairman
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) congratulated the newly appointed Chairman of University Grant Commission (UGC) Prof. Dr. Kazi Shahidullah. A higher-ranked delegation from BUFT met at his office on June 13, 2019 to congratulate him.
The delegation comprised of Mr. Muzaffar Uddin Siddique, Founder Chairman of Board of Trustees (BOT); also present were Founder Trustee Members Mr. S M Mannan (Kochi) and Mr. Reaz-Bin-Mahmood; Mr. Md. Moshiul Azam (Shajal), Member, BOT; VC (Acting) Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan; Treasurer (Designate) Prof. Dr. S M Abu Raihan; Registrar Md. Rafiquzzaman; Dean, Faculty of Business Studies Prof. Md. Muinuddin Khan.
During the short meeting, Mr. Muzaffar Uddin Siddique, Founder Chairman of Board of Trustees, BUFT extended his warm welcome to Prof. Dr. Kazi Shahidullah. He gave an introduction about BUFT, its development prospects and cooperation. Prof. Dr. Kazi Shahidullah expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the warm reception by BUFT.
