Workshop on “BUSINESS SOFT SKILL DEVELOPMENT” held at BUFT

The Department of Business Administration of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) has organized a day long workshop on “BUSINESS SOFT SKILL DEVELOPMENT” on end of this month at its own campus at Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka.

The objective of the program was to develop the students’ interview facing skill, CV writing skill and office etiquette and as such the overall career and to strengthen the alliance between the industry and the University.

Mr. Hamimur Rahman, General Manager, Human Resource, Envoy Textiles Limited was the key resource person and the final year students of the Department of Business Administration were the participants. During the workshop the students were given an in-depth practical idea about CV writing, interview facing and office etiquette through lecture, one-to-one interview and feedback session.

Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi khan, Vice Chancellor (Acting), BUFT and Prof. Md. Muinuddin Khan, Distinguished Professor & Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, BUFT were present at the certificate giving ceremony of the program. The program was moderated by Mr. Mallick Rakibul Hasan, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, BUFT.

Certificate giving ceremony of Entrepreneurship Development Training (EDT) Program held at BUFT premises

The Department of Business Administration, BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) introduced a three month long training program: “Entrepreneurship Development Training” for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique, Founder Chairman, BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) was the Chief Guest at the program. Professor Dr. AHM Habibur Rahman, President, CRED, was the guest of honor; Professor Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Acting); Professor Md Muinuddin Khan, Distinguished Professor & Dean, Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), BUFT, who chaired the seminar, rounded up the group of panelists.

The panelists discussed about the importance of entrepreneurs, since the independence of Bangladesh: how entrepreneurs have played a vital role in forming and shaping the economy of Bangladesh to what it is today: a promising, booming economy. All the panelists shared their views and opinions and had inspiring words of advice for all of the audience present at the ceremony. The panelists later distributed certificates of completion to all the students who participated in the training program.

Professor Md. Muinuddin Khan, Distinguished Professor & Dean, FBS, BUFT, concluded the session with a vote of thanks.

Research Seminar on Implementation Status of Bangladesh Labor Laws in RMG Industry

The Departments of Business Administration & Social Science, BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organized a seminar on the research findings of the “Implementation Status of Bangladesh Labor Laws in RMG Industry: A study on General Factories in Gazipur Area” in the Seminar Room 101, 1st Floor, inside BUFT premises.

Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique, Founder Chairman, BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) was the Chief Guest at the program. Mr. Md Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), Founder Member Board of Trustees (BoT), BUFT; Mr. Md. Faruque Hassan, Founder Member, BoT, BUFT; Professor Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Acting); Dr. Khondaker Golam Moazzem, Research Director, Centre for Policy Dialogue; Mohammed Zahidullah, Head of Sustainability, DBL Group; Professor Md Muinuddin Khan, Distinguished Professor & Dean, Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), BUFT, who chaired the seminar, rounded up the group of panelists.

The panelists discussed about the research findings from a study conducted on Garment Factories in the Gazipur Area, the status and present scenario of Labor Laws implementation in the garment sector. All the panelists shared their opinions and views and had a fruitful exchange of ideas to be taken into consideration for future research and implementation.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Md. Muinuddin Khan, Distinguished Professor & Dean, FBS, BUFT.
