World Teachers’ Day 2019 held at BUFT
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organised a programme for the celebration of World Teachers’ Day 2019 and presentation of lifetime achievement award to BUFT Advisor, Distinguished Professor & Dean Faculty of Business, Professor Md. Muinuddin Khan for his contributions in business and accounting education in Bangladesh on Monday, 7th October, 2019, in the auditorium at BUFT campus, Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka. University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman, Professor Dr. Kazi Shahidullah, was present at the event as the Chief Guest. He gave special emphasis on the role of teachers shaping the youth for a bright future.
Muzaffar U. Siddique, Founder Chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT, chaired the function. He gave a flower bouquet and crest to the Chief Guest, UGC Chairman, Professor Dr. Kazi Shahidullah, and lifetime achievement award recipient, Distinguished Prof. Md. Muinuddin Khan.
Mr Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, Founder member, Board of Trustees, BUFT, Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, Registrar, Director of Administration, CFO, Head of Logistics, Project Director, Head of PR, all heads of the academic and administrative departments, faculty members, officials, staff of BUFT, along with media personnel and students were present at the function.
Final Match of the BUFT Inter batch Football Tournament-2019
The Final Match of the BUFT Inter batch Football Tournament-2019 was held at the university's own playgrounds on September 29, 2019.
In the final match, two teams from the university participated in the football team of batch 71 and 91. It was an exciting match. The team of 91 batch won the final match score 4-2.
Later, the Founder Chairman of the BUFT Trustee Board, Mr. Mozaffar Uddin Siddique handed over the trophy and prize to the winners. At that time, the acting Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. Eng. Ayub Nabi Khan, Deans of faculties, , Acting Treasurer, Registrar, Department Heads, DSW, CFO, Faculty Members, Head PRO, Officers and Students were present.
Comprehensive Day Long Workshop on “Implementation of LEAN SIX SIGMA in Apparel Manufacturing” held at BUFT
A Comprehensive workshop on “Implementation of LEAN SIX SIGMA in Apparel Manufacturing” held on 14th of September 2019 at BUFT Permanent Campus, Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka-1230 from 10:00 AM to 04:30 PM in order to convey the implication of Lean Six sigma in apparel manufacturing. The workshop was arranged by Department of Business Administration (DBA), BUFT.
Final Year Students from the different undergraduate programs actively participated in the day long workshop. Mr.Naijur Rahman, CEO & Chief Consultant, Mind Works was the chief trainer of the workshop. The chief trainer of the workshop illustrated the significance of the quality assurance of the apparel production process in the competitive world market; he also pointed out the importance of LEAN SIX SIGMA as a key quality assurance and management tools in RMG industry.
Prof. Dr. Eng. Ayub Nabi Khan, Honorable Vice Chancellor (Acting) concluded the session by giving his valuable speech addressing the importance of technical and soft skill development and highlighted the importance of such training and workshops to the development of students for job market. The workshop was also graced by Mr. ATM Adnan, Assistant Professors, DBA. There were 34 participants in the workshop. All Participants were awarded a certificate of participation after the session ended.
