Spring 2020 Orientation Program held at BUFT
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organised an orientation programme for the newly admitted students of Spring 2020 semester at its main campus in the capital.
BUFT arranged the function on Sunday, 01 March 2020, for students in the following programs: B.Sc. (Hons) in AMT, FDT, KMT, TE, TEM, IE, English, BBA and Masters Programmes.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman; Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan; Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil; Registrar, Mr Md. Rafiquzzaman; Dean of Faculty of Business Studies, Distinguished Prof. Md Muinuddin Khan; Dean of Faculty of Apparel Studies, Prof. Dr. Mohd. Ekram Ali Shaikh; Dean of Faculty of Textile Engineering, Prof. Dr. Engr. Abu Bakr Siddique; Dean of Faculty of Engineering Studies, Dr. Sirajul Karim Choudhury addressed the audience.
Directors of Student Welfare, Planning & Administration, CFO, Head of Logistics, all Heads of the academic and administrative departments, faculty members, officials, staff of BUFT, the newly admitted students and their guardians were present at the function.

Niederrhein University team visited BUFT
A team of delegates from Niederrhein University in Kreffeld, Germany visited BUFT on February 12, 2020. A seminar on ‘Teaching & Learning Techniques of Niederrhein University’ and ‘Higher Education Opportunities in Niederrhein University’ was held in the Seminar Hall where Prof. Dr. Alexander Büsgen and Prof. Dr. Vossebein Lutz were keynote speakers at the event. The session was chaired by Honorable Founder Chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT, Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Registrar Mr. Md. Rafiquzzaman, Distinguished Professor & Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, Prof. Md. Muinuddin Khan, Dean of Faculty of Textile Engineering Prof. Dr. Engr. Abu Bakr Siddique, R&D Director Associate Prof. Dr. Abdul Baqui, Heads of Departments, and Faculty Members were present during the program.
Prof S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman has been Designated as the Vice-Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT)
Prof S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman has been Designated as the Vice-Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT). His expected date of joining 26th January, 2020. He was a Professor International Business at the University of Dhaka and served the University for more than 35 years (1984-2019). He joined as Lecturer at the Department of Finance of the DU in 1984 and subsequently appointed as Professor in 1994. He was a Visiting Professor at the School of Economics University of Nagoya, Japan (1998).
Professor S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman did his Doctorate from (1972) from Institute of Oriental Studies, Moscow. He received his M.S. in Economics with honors, (1979) from Peoples Friendship University, Moscow.
Professor S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman served the DU in different important academic and administrative positions including Chairman, Department of Finance, University of Dhaka; Director, Master of International Trade and Business Program, University of Dhaka; Member, Dhaka University Senate; Provost, Zahurul Haq Hall, University of Dhaka. Professor S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman was a General Secretary and Treasurer of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh.
Professor S. M. Mahfuzur Rahman visited a good number of countries including Australia, Belgium, China, Cuba, Germany, Grace, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Poland, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA, Russia.
Professor S. M .Mahfuzur Rahman, was born on 25 March 1952 at Village Daudpur, Dist. Dinajpur.
