BUFT Holds Emergency Meeting with BoT Chairman

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) held an emergency meeting of its senior academic and administrative officials on 24 August 2026 to review preparations for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester and discuss the university's future growth and development. Presided over by Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees (BoT), the meeting brought together senior officials at the university's Seminar Room. Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor, emphasized professionalism, dedication and teamwork in further strengthening BUFT's academic environment. Registrar Mr. Rafiquzzaman delivered the welcome address, while BoT Member Mr. Mohammed Nasir highlighted the importance of collective responsibility and close coordination for the effective functioning of the university.

 

Mr. Hassan urged faculty members and officials to work as one team, remain committed to their responsibilities and continuously improve their performance to ensure a successful start to the Fall 2026 semester. He also stressed the need for sustained efforts to raise BUFT's academic standards and strengthen its reputation nationally and internationally, describing the university community as a family working together towards long-term institutional excellence.

BUFT Observes July Mass Uprising Day 2026

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) observed July Mass Uprising Day 2026 through a discussion meeting and Doa Mahfil held on 19 August 2026 at the university’s Multipurpose Hall. The program was organized in accordance with government directives and brought together the university’s academic and administrative community to commemorate the significance of the July Mass Uprising and reflect on its historical importance.

 

Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BUFT, attended the program as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate), BUFT, chaired the event. The program was attended by Deans, Heads of Departments and Offices, faculty members, officers, students and staff of the university.

 

In his remarks, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices and aspirations associated with the July Mass Uprising and highlighted the responsibility of the younger generation to uphold the values of justice, dignity, unity and social responsibility. The discussion also focused on the historical significance of the movement and the importance of building a peaceful, inclusive and progressive Bangladesh through education, ethical leadership and active citizenship.

 

The program concluded with a Doa Mahfil, seeking divine blessings for the country’s peace, prosperity and continued development, as well as for those who lost their lives and suffered during the movement.

BUFT Hosts Zhejiang Sci-Tech University Delegation for Academic Conference

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) hosted a delegation from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU), China, at an academic conference on August 16, aimed at strengthening academic and institutional ties between the two universities. Organized by BUFT’s Department of Fashion Studies (FS), the event titled “Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, China and BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) Academic Conference 2026”.

 

The conference brought together academics from the two institutions to exchange views and explore opportunities for future collaboration in education, research and related areas. Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice-Chancellor (Designate) of BUFT, delivered the welcome address, while Prof. Xu Qiujie of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University spoke on behalf of the visiting delegation. Mr. Faruque Hassan, chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of deepening academic and institutional cooperation between BUFT and ZSTU.

 

The program concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Dean of the School of Sciences and Textile Engineering at BUFT. The visiting delegates were later presented with BUFT souvenirs as a gesture of appreciation. The program ended with a group photograph, followed by a tour of the BUFT campus for the guests. The visit is expected to contribute to greater academic engagement and pave the way for future collaboration between BUFT and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University.
