The Institute of Quality Assuarance Cell (IQAC) regularly organizes seminars, workshops and various training programs for the Faculty Members at BUFT in order to improve teaching standards, establish and maintain a quality culture amongst the Faculty Members at BUFT. As an effort of its continued drive towards excellence, the IQAC arranged a symposium on 08 Februrary 2020, where experts shared their experiences and views that could improve the teaching standards at BUFT. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan opened the session. Guest speakers included, Prof. Dr. A H M Habibur Rahman, Professor & Dean, Faculty of Business, Primeasia University and Prof. Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikari, Member, Bangladesh Accreditation Council. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Treasurer, BUFT; Distinguished Prof. M. Muinuddin Khan, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies & Director of IQAC, BUFT; Prof. Dr. Sirajul Karim Choudury, Dean, FSE, BUFT; Dr. Abdul Baqui, Director, R&D, BUFT and Dr. Engr. Hasan Iqbal, Additional Director IQAC and Head of AMT, BUFT, addressed the audience during the program. The topics of discussion included experience sharing on learning & teaching in textile, business and education at the tertiary level, as well as the IQAC Framework, self-assessment and accreditation. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Honorable Founder Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BUFT, Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique who later presented a flower bouquet and token of appreciation to the guests at the event. The Centre for Coordination Consulting & Testing (CCT), BUFT, also played an important role in arranging and making the event successful.
An Industry-linked meeting took place between BUFT and Aptech Group at the Level 3 Conference Room at BUFT on 26 February 2020. Mr. Syed Shams Reza, Director, and Mr. Syed Abdullayes Hasanuzzaman, General Manager, Marketing & Merchandising of Aptech Group attended the meeting on behalf of Aptech Group. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Treasurer, BUFT; Mr. Md. Rafiquzzaman, Registrar, BUFT; Distinguished Prof. M. Muinuddin Khan, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies & Director of IQAC, BUFT; Prof. Dr. Sirajul Karim Choudury, Dean, Faculty of Engineering Studies, BUFT; Prof. Dr. Md. Ekram Ali Shaikh, Dean, Faculty of Apparel Studies; Prof. Dr. Engr. Abu Bakr Siddique, Dean, Faculty of Textile Engineering, BUFT; Dr. Abdul Baqui, Director, Research & Development, BUFT; Mr. Md. Iqbal Ahsan, Public Relations Officer-in charge, BUFT, were present during the meeting. A discussion was held about what employers sought from graduates and the roles BUFT should play in order for its students to thrive at the top level. Aptech Group have generously offered to place 10-15 outstanding graduates of BUFT into their training programs, upon satisfactory completion of which they would be offered employment at Aptech Group. After the meeting concluded, Distinguished Prof. M Muinuiddin Khan thanked & presented tokens of appreciation to the guests from Aptech Group.
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organised an orientation programme for the newly admitted students of Spring 2020 semester at its main campus in the capital.
BUFT arranged the function on Sunday, 01 March 2020, for students in the following programs: B.Sc. (Hons) in AMT, FDT, KMT, TE, TEM, IE, English, BBA and Masters Programmes.
