About Dr. Hasan

Dr. Hasan currently holds the position of Associate Professor and Head of Department of Apparel Manufacturing & Technology at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), Bangladesh.

Dr. Hasan received his doctorate (PhD in Textile Engineering) in 2016 from Donghua University of China. He has been working in research and higher education for the last six years. His research interests include smart materials, shape memory polymers, advanced composite materials, nano-composite materials, CNTs and graphene nano sheets, multi-functional composite materials, high performance textiles, finite element analysis & simulations, storage materials of different gases, recovery technology of resources, management of solid waste and wastewater, life-cycle analysis, effluent treatment, reuse of wastewater, sustainable development, sustainability in textile value chain, green manufacturing, etc.

Dr. Ikbal is a highly motivated individual and has been very successfully coordinating few EU projects at BUFT. He successfully coordinated a Danish funded project (Step Up+ project) in collaboration with Danida, DM&T and Sociability of Denmark.


Teaching/Research Specialization

Dr. Hasan has more than nine years of experience in the fields of teaching, industries and project management, research and development.

He happened to work under two projects as a research fellow funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China and Shanghai Local Government, China

  • Research on Unidirectional Non-Crimp Glass-Carbon Hybrid Composites for Automobiles, funded by Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (Funding no.: 15XD1524700).
