Mr.Rois Uddin Mahmud

Assistant Professor, BUFT

About

Mr. Rois Uddin Mahmud teaches full-time in the Department of Textile Engineering (TE) at the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT). Mr. Mahmud spent over two years as a Production Engineer (Knit Dyeing) at Micro Fiber Group LTD. and a Quality Assurance Officer (AOP & CPB) at RobinTex Group LTD. before joining BUFT. Mr. Rois graduated from the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology with an outstanding academic result and was granted the "Dean's Award" for scholastic academic success. He then earned his master's degree (M.Sc. in Textile Engineering) at the same institution with a similarly outstanding result.

In addition to his academic career, he has participated in a variety of volunteer and extracurricular activities. He is an active member of the blood donation group, advisor to the BUFT career development club, and coordinator for the BUFT Textile Club. In addition, he worked as a junior technical analyst on the "Capacity Development Action Plan Development for the Department of Environment (DOE), STILE Project," a project run by the Bangladeshi government and GIZ. In addition, he participated in numerous national and international trainings, such as "Processing Technology and Innovation Design of Modern Silk Products" at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University in China, which was supported by the Chinese government, and "Grant Proposal Writing" training for early career researchers at ACU.

Through his education, research, training, and professional experience, Mr. Rois Uddin Mahmud discovered how to develop waste resources in a sustainable way for the benefit of the future. His desire to make a contribution to ethical practice, engineering design, and regulatory concerns, as well as his desire to reduce polymeric waste by reusing and recycling those materials in sustainable applications.
