About

Since 2023, Md. Tusar Akon has been teaching in the Textile Engineering Department at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology. In 2022, he began his textile career with Epyllion Knitex Limited. Later, he joined BluePlanet Knit Composite Limited as a Process Engineer in the Dyeing Research Laboratory. Mr. Akon was awarded a B.S. degree in Textile Engineering, specifically Dyes and Chemical Engineering, from the Bangladesh University of Textiles.

Teaching/Research Specialization

Md. Tusar Akon is a dedicated academic and researcher in the Department of Textile Engineering at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT). With a strong academic background and extensive industrial experience, he has developed expertise in key areas of modern textile engineering. These include sustainable textile dyeing methods, the integration of renewable energy in textile production, artificial intelligence-based optimization, and the development of smart textiles. His research focuses on addressing the complex challenges that arise at the intersection of industrial productivity and environmental sustainability.

A central aspect of Mr. Akon’s research is the advancement of sustainable textile technologies. This includes work on biodegradable composites, eco-efficient dyeing techniques, and the incorporation of renewable energy sources into textile manufacturing processes. His goal is to reduce the environmental impact of the textile industry while simultaneously improving operational efficiency and product performance. Notably, his research on the use of artificial intelligence for process optimization seeks to transform manufacturing workflows by providing scalable solutions to reduce waste, energy consumption, and operational costs in textile production.

In addition to his research, Mr. Akon has played a significant role in mentoring undergraduate students, guiding them through demanding research projects and encouraging critical thinking and innovation.
