PGD Program
Readymade Garments (RMG) and Textile Sector are the lifeblood of our economy. The sustainability of this sector is a crying need for Bangladesh. This sector helps in creating employment, reducing poverty and empowering women and contributing in export. Its contribution to the economy of Bangladesh is inevitable. But it is a matter of fact that still this sector is surrounded by a lot of challenges i.e. poor infrastructure, lack of skilled work- force, unavailability of loan facility, weak backward linkage, high dependency on foreign experts etc. Among all those challenges the absence of managerial skill and technical skills to cope up with the 4th industrial revolution and circular economy is vital. To overcome the challenges and create employment, BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) is offering two demand-driven post-graduate diploma programs for the RMG and textile sector in Bangladesh.
Objectives for introducing these courses:
- To strengthen the capacity of the employee to cope up with the fourth industrial revolution and circular economy in the Readymade Garments Sector in Bangladesh.
- To reduce the dependency on foreign experts and
- Contribute to sustainable development in this sector.
- Create job opportunity for grduates.
