Dr. Xu has successively led or participated as a core member in over 30 projects, including the National Social Science Art Project "Research on the Inheritance Context and Development Protection of She Ethnic Costumes from the Perspective of Artistic Anthropology," the National Social Science Popular Reading Project."A Hundred Colors, A Thousand Sensations: The Story of Chinese Colors," the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Science Youth Project."A Study on the Construction of the Dyeing Color Name Genealogy of 'Tianshui Iceberg Record' from the Perspective of Digital Humanities," the Zhejiang Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Project. "A Study on the Dyeing Color Name Genealogy and Color Name Culture of 'Tianshui Iceberg Record'," "A Study on the History of Chinese Traditional Textile and Apparel Creation Design Technology and Art," and projects commissioned by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education. She has published over 10 academic papers and has been granted more than 30 design patents. She has served as the editor-in-chief of textbooks for the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" and "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" periods, including "Women's Fashion Design" (published by Donghua University Press) and "The Language of Color Design" (published by Zhejiang University Press). Among these, "Women's Fashion Design" (3rd edition) has been recognized as a "14th Five-Year Plan" undergraduate general education textbook for Zhejiang Province, an outstanding textbook for the "12th Five-Year Plan" period at the ministerial level, an outstanding textbook for the "12th Five-Year Plan" period for general higher education in Zhejiang Province, a first-prize winner for outstanding ministerial-level textbooks, and the ninth outstanding textbook for university presses in the East China region. The total print run of all editions has reached 30,000 copies, and it has been selected as a textbook for related professional courses by over 100 universities nationwide.

In terms of social service, she has been responsible for releasing the dynamic trends of Chinese silk for many years, which were exhibited at the China International Silk Expo and the International China Women's Wear Expo, receiving positive feedback from the industry and media. He has also been commissioned by the Hangzhou Oriental Silk Culture and Brand Research Center, the Hangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, and the Hangzhou Municipal City Brand Work Steering Committee to conduct comprehensive research on silk. She has maintained close collaboration with the fashion industries of Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Lishui, and Taizhou in Zhejiang Province, organizing national fashion competitions, forums, and industry services, with industry cooperation funding reaching approximately 10 million yuan.
