Assistant Professor, BUFT
About
Ms. Ummelewara Bristi currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Apparel Manufacturing & Technology (AMT) at the BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT). She received her B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. degrees in Clothing & Textile from the Government College of Applied Human Science (Home Economics College), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She also received a PGD degree in Apparel Merchandising from BGMEA University & Fashion & Technology (BUFT).
Ms. Ummelewara Bristi has also worked as a research fellow at the Centre
for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS), University of Dhaka. At present she
is pursuing her Ph.D. degree in Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering at
the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Ms. Ummelewara Bristi has almost ten years of experience in the field of teaching. Her current research mainly focuses on wastewater treatment (dyes/heavy metals removal from wastewater), preparation of chitosan-modified Nano composites, hydrogels, antimicrobial finishing of textile materials, spatiotemporal analysis of wastewater, and sustainable denim wash by using EIM software. She also published several scholastic scientific articles in internationally reputed journals with a high impact factor.
Her dedication to advancing knowledge and finding solutions in
environmental science and textile technology. Ms. Ummelewara Bristi continues
to seek innovative solutions for pressing environmental challenges, inspiring
her students and peers alike.
