Sumiya Akter
Anika is currently serving as a Lecturer in the esteemed Department of Fashion
Design & Technology at the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT),
where she imparts her expertise to the next generation of fashion
professionals. Prior to embarking on her academic career, she gained invaluable
hands-on experience in the fashion industry as a Product Development
Merchandiser at Floreal Bangladesh, a prestigious subsidiary of the renowned
CIEL TEXTILE Group. In this role, she honed her skills in the intricacies of
product development, gaining a profound understanding of the fashion industry's
operational dynamics.
She is an
alumnus of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), where she
earned her bachelor’s degree with distinction. Her academic journey, coupled
with her industry experience, has equipped her with a unique blend of practical
knowledge and theoretical insight, making her a distinguished figure in the
field of fashion design and technology. Through her current role at BUFT, she
continues to shape the future of the fashion industry, imparting her expertise
and passion for design to her students while contributing significantly to the
growth and development of the university's fashion program.
