About
Saima Akter is a dedicated Lecturer in English and Academic Coordinator of the department of English at the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. With over 8 years of experience in teaching English language and literature across diverse academic settings, she specializes in creating dynamic, inclusive, and student-centered learning environments.
Her academic journey began with a deep passion for literature and critical theory, culminating in a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature from Eastern University, where she graduated with the highest result in the batch and achieved Cum Laude award. She has since been committed to advancing knowledge through both classroom instruction and literary research. Her research primarily explores feminist readings of modern fiction, with recent publications examining the works of D.H. Lawrence, Virginia Woolf, and Henrik Ibsen.
Throughout her career, she has taught at institutions both at home and abroad, including Bangladesh International School and College in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She regularly participates in conferences and teacher development workshops, and she is passionate about integrating digital tools and multimedia into teaching.
Whether mentoring students, leading academic programs, or publishing in peer-reviewed journals, she strives to contribute meaningfully to the academic community and inspire lifelong learning.
