About
Sabbir Ahmed Abir currently holds the position of Assistant Professor of the Department of Apparel Merchandising & Management (AMM) at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), Bangladesh. His journey in academia and the professional realm spans a diverse spectrum of responsibilities across various domains. As an academic professional for more than eight years within one of Bangladesh's premier RMG and textile specialized universities like BUFT, his focus lies in nurturing the next cohort of RMG and textile leaders.
Mr. Abir obtained his MBA degree in Marketing from the prestigious Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) with first class first distinction. Before that completed his B.Sc. in Apparel Manufacturing & Technology (AMT) from the then BGMEA Institute of Fashion & Technology in Fashion Design & Technology (BIFT) and presently BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology in Fashion Design & Technology (BUFT). He was awarded the presidential gold medal in the Graduation Ceremony of BIFT for his extraordinary academic performance (first class first).
Mr. Abir’s tenure at BUFT began as a Lecturer in September 2016 and evolved to Assistant Professor in 2022. Before joining BUFT he worked as a merchandiser in Purbani Group for two and half years. He has experience in working with several notable RMG International buyers and brands such as PVH (CK), Walmart, H &M etc. He also worked for more than one year as a Business Development Manager in Ornate Group.
