About

Nafis Abir is an Assistant Professor of Textile Engineering at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology. He had joined at BUFT in 2015. He initiated his teaching career at Port City International University in 2014. He holds a B.Sc. in Textile Technology from Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology. Later, he pursued his M.Sc. in Textile Engineering from Bangladesh University of Textiles.

Teaching/Research Specialization

Nafis Abir’s primary research focuses on yarn manufacturing and fiber-reinforced composite materials. As part of his Master’s thesis, he conducted research on the versatile applications of jute fiber-reinforced composites.

He has led several research projects in various areas of Textile Engineering at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) and supervised undergraduate thesis projects. His collaborative research with BUFT students and faculty has been published in journals both nationally and internationally.
