Md. Tofazzal Hossain
Assistant Professor, BUFT
About
Md. Tofazzal Hossain is an assistant professor in the Department of Textile Engineering at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Md. Hossain graduated with a B.Sc. in Textile Engineering from Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh, in the mid of 2014 and secured 1st class 1st position in the Wet Processing Technology, and also received the merit scholarship all semester, Dean's award in the year of 2012 as well. After graduation, he joined a reputed textile industry as a production officer on a dyeing floor, where he worked for over two and a half years. Then, in 2017, he joined Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) as a lecturer in the Textile Engineering Department. He worked two years and eight months as a Lecturer and Sr. Lecturer, and as an Assistant Professor until August 2023. During the servicing period in NUB, he completed his M.Sc. in Textile Engineering from DUET in 2022 conducting research on the adsorption of heavy metals and published his research work in the Journal of Molecular Liquid (Elsevier) https://doi.org/10.1016/j.molliq.2022.120810. His current research mainly focuses on wastewater treatment (dyes/heavy metals removal from wastewater), wastewater treatment, LDH nanocomposites, bamboo charcoal, electrospun nanotechnology, and pretreatment of textile materials. He also published several scholastic scientific articles in internationally reputed journals, with a high impact factor.
