Dr. Khan Rajib Hossain
Sr. Researcher, BUFT
About
I am Dr. Khan Rajib Hossain, a materials scientist and senior researcher of Natural Sciences at the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), Dhaka, Bangladesh. I completed my PhD in Materials Science at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) under the prestigious ANSO/UNESCO Scholarship for Young Talents. During my doctoral research, I focused on 3D-printed biomimetic interfaces with anisotropic friction, combining tribology, soft materials, hydrogels, and advanced additive manufacturing technologies. Over the past decade, I have developed extensive experience in 3D printing, 4D printing, biomimetic engineering, hydrogel science, nanomaterials, intelligent polymers, and surface engineering. I have published more than 46 international research papers in well-recognized journals, including Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Tribology International, Nano Research, Journal of Ionic Liquids, and Journal of Bionic Engineering. I also contribute to book chapters and review articles on emerging fields such as ionogels, photonic systems, and smart materials. I actively support global academic communities as a research trainer, providing free training to more than 350+ students worldwide in areas such as research methodology, computational tools, 3D printing, CAD design, and scientific software skills. I also built a comprehensive online resource with over 1,200 articles dedicated to 3D printing technologies, hydrogels, biomimetics, and other advanced material topics.
Before joining BUFT, I worked in the textile, leather, and polymer industries in Bangladesh, where I led research and development, chemical formulation, environmental compliance, and quality assurance in international-standard production environments. My industrial expertise includes ISO systems, ZDHC chemical compliance, textile chemistry, and wastewater treatment operations. I am passionate about creating accessible learning opportunities, supporting researchers globally, and contributing to innovative material technologies that can transform manufacturing, healthcare, soft robotics, and sustainable product development. My goal is to advance science while inspiring the next generation of engineers, researchers, and innovators.
