Dr. S. M. Khorshed Alam is a distinguished researcher and educator specializing in Inorganic Chemistry, Hydrogeochemistry, and Environmental Engineering. Currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science at BUFT, Dr. Alam seamlessly integrates over a decade of industrial leadership in Chemical and Environmental compliance with cutting-edge academic research.

He earned his Doctor of Engineering (PhD) in Hydraulic Engineering from the School of Water and Environment at Changan University, China (2025). His pioneering doctoral research utilized advanced machine learning architectures, specifically XGBoost and SHAP models, to resolve complex challenges in groundwater nitrate pollution. A high-achieving scholar, Dr. Alam is a recipient of the prestigious Changan University President Scholarship (1st Prize) and the Excellent International Graduate Award (2025). He is also a proud Alumni General Member of the Association of Bangladesh-China Alumni (ABCA).
