Biddut Chandra Sarker holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Resource Management from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU), Tangail, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. Additionally, he holds a diploma in Social Compliance from the Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM).
Biddut has held various academic, consulting, and training roles. He previously served as a Lecturer in the Department of Environment Protection Technology at German University Bangladesh, Gazipur, and has extensive experience in environmental consulting, having worked as an independent consultant in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) for Regscan Inc., Williamsport, PA, USA. He also served as Assistant Secretary for Environmental Sustainability at the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA), where he contributed to training programs focused on industrial safety and environmental sustainability. Throughout his career at BKMEA, Biddut played a key role in significant training initiatives. He served as a Senior Trainer for the Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP), a vetted trainer for Fire & Safety under NIRAPON Bangladesh, and a Master Trainer for the Social Dialogue and Industrial Relations (SDIR) Project by the ILO Bangladesh. He also led initiatives related to women’s health, safety, and child development through programs conducted by the Bangladesh Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
Early Career: Biddut’s early career roles reflect his growing expertise in environmental research and project management.

Research Assistant, Nielsen Bangladesh: He coordinated field research, conducted in-depth interviews (IDIs), and facilitated focus group discussions (FGDs), contributing to various research studies.

Research Assistant, Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA): At BINA, Biddut managed field research activities, collected water and soil samples, conducted laboratory analyses, and documented research outcomes.

Program Associate, Environment and Social Development Organization (ESDO): During his tenure at ESDO, Biddut managed chemical safety programs, developed research reports, and coordinated multiple projects, including the ‘Lead Elimination Project,’ ‘E-Waste Scenario of Bangladesh,’ ‘Mercury in Dentistry Project,’ and the ‘Anti-polythene Campaign.’ These projects were funded by organizations such as IPEN: A Toxics-Free Future, the European Union (EU), and the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry (WAMFD), addressing key issues in environmental health and pollution control.
His diverse background in academia, consultancy, and training highlights his commitment to environmental sustainability, industrial safety, and social development across various sectors, both locally and internationally.
Biddut is passionate about environmental pollution and protection, environmental sustainability, waste management, environmental health and safety (EHS), occupational safety and health (OSH), and green environmental issues.
