About

A. K. M. Mazharul Islam is a dedicated academic and ELT professional with over two decades of experience in tertiary-level teaching and research. His educational background includes a supplementary MA in English Language Teaching (ELT) from the Institute of Modern Languages, Dhaka University, along with his regular MA in English from Rajshahi University in 2000, equipping him to teach a diverse range of courses of language and literature both at home and abroad.

Before joining BUFT, Mr Islam had been a faculty member at King Khalid University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2012-2024). In between, he also served Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology as an adjunct faculty member. Prior to teaching at KSA, he held the assistant professor position at International Islamic University Chittagong, Dhaka Campus (2008-2014). His journey of tertiary-level teaching started with Darul Ihsan University as a lecturer in Dhanmondi, Dhaka (2004-2008). He started his career with Bangladesh Rifles College.

He is fond of research and published papers in national and international referred journals. He is very glad and humbled to take part in BUFT's dream, Excellence Through Education. He is goal-driven and committed to using his expertise to prepare young minds for their prestigious placements.
