Dr. A H M Abdul Moudood

About
Dr A H M Abdul Moudood has been working as an Assistant Professor at BUFT since January 2023. He earned his PhD in Engineering from Griffith University, Australia in 2019. He was a PhD research fellow under the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) at Griffith University. His doctoral thesis focuses on the environmental effects on the performance of natural fibre-based bio-composites. Prior to that, he pursued his MSc (by research) in Manufacturing Engineering from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He was a Research Assistant at IIUM under eScience (Project No. 03-01-08-SF0135), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), Malaysia. As a post-graduate researcher he did research on Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) of non-conductive ceramics (alumina and zirconia). Dr Moudood is a BSc in Mechanical Engineering graduate from RUET, Rajshahi, Bangladesh. In addition, he has also completed an MBA (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Rajshahi. Dr Moudood has teaching experience at IIUM and Griffith University in both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. He was the recipient of an outstanding teaching award for his contribution to teaching during Trimester 2, 2019 at Griffith University, Gold Coast, Australia. Before joining BUFT, Dr Moudood was working as a Quality Control Officer at Tritium Ltd, Murarrie, Brisbane, Australia. He also has several years of industrial experience in Bangladesh.
Dr Moudood has published a number of articles in different high impact peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore, he has also presented his research results at different international conferences. He was awarded a publication assistance scholarship at Griffith University in 2019 and a silver medal for poster presentation at the engineering research and innovation exhibition at IIUM in 2014. He is an invited reviewer of many refereed journals, including Journal of Composite Materials, Advances in Materials Science and Engineering, etc. He is a member of Engineers Australia, the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) and the Bangladesh Computer Society.
Teaching/Research Specialization
His research interests include natural fibre composites, non-conventional machining (EDM and micro-EDM), TQM, renewable energy, etc.
