About
Afroza Akter Rita currently holds the
position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design and
Technology (FDT) at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT),
Bangladesh. Afroza Akter Rita completed
her Masters of Science in Fashion Design (MFD) from BGMEA University of Fashion
& Technology and completed MBA
in Product & Fashion Merchandising from Shanto-Mariam University of
Creative Technology. She has completed her Bachelor of Arts (Hon’s) in Fashion Design
& Technology from Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. She
worked as a researcher of CSR, SRHR and Innovative Leadership in the RMG sector
of Bangladesh, NICHE/BGD/199, funded by NUFFIC, Netherlands. She achieved a PGD
(15 ECTS) in Corporate Social Responsibility, SRHR and Innovative leadership
from Nyenrode Business Universiteit, Breukelen, The Netherlands.
Afroza Akter Rita joined the BGMEA University of Fashion &
Technology (BUFT) in 2011. She
was former convener of Sexual Harassment Committee of BUFT. She published one book and nine journals on
local and international papers. She got the Chancellor Awards for her M.Sc and
MBA performance (Gold medal). Also, she completed numerous short courses,
attended seminars, conferences and workshops along with training programs in
both national and international. She supervise graduation collection along with
internship of undergraduate program and dissertation of master’s program.
Teaching/Research Specialization
Afroza Akter Rita is an
accomplished Assistant Professor with over 12 years of experience in
fundamental fashion design. Her expertise includes are Flat Pattern Making, Draping, Pattern
Grading, Creative Design Analysis, Design process, Product Development, Collection
Development, Fashion Portfolio and Corporate Social Responsibility.
